LA02 – something extra…

Here’s a little something extra in the New Orleans Congressional race.  We’ve been told that Juan LaFonta, one of the Democrats trying to unseat Anh “Joseph” Cao in LA02, has a bit of a hot temper.

According to sources, Mr. LaFonta’s latest campaign manager, his third since entering the LA02 race, resigned when she discovered some irregularities in LaFonta’s management of campain funds.  We’re currently verifying the specifics of the irregularity.  It’s clear that it took place, just making sure that it’s a violation of campaign rules/law.

But right or wrong on the specifics, the lady who ran LaFonta’s campaign was treated pretty badly by him on the way out.  According to reports, she discovered the situation and decided to quit.  She did not want to be associated with anything illegal.  This was more or less the clincher in her decision to quit.  When she decided to quit, she collected her belongings from LaFonta’s campaign HQ, left her key inside, and had another campaign employee lock her out.

Apparently, LaFonta found out this was happening, and showed up, outraged.  He demanded that the campaign manager return her most recent paycheck.  She refused and headed toward her car, at which point Juan chased her down St. Claude Ave.  She got in the car and drove away.  It was then that Juan called the police.  When they got there, the police told him there was nothing they could do.

In describing LaFonta, she used terms like, “verbally abusive,” “criminally insane,” “habitual liar,” and “delusional.”

This isn’t the first time LaFonta’s gone nuclear with employees and co-workers; we’re running down some other reports on his bad behavior.
